About Ton Peelen

Ton has been living in diverse corners of the world. Born and raised in the Netherlands, he has been living in Belgium, Florida, The Caribbean and Mexico. He owned a silkscreen printing company and \l "a real estate office for many years and finally came out of the closet by doing what he wanted to do most for all those years: Making art!! Living in the tropics has given Ton’s paintings a unique colorful style with influences from the hot tropical Caribbean, the lush rainforests and Mayan people in Mexico and the urban lifestyle of Miami. His works are full of energy, passion and "Joie de Vivre". Ton’s portraits are characterized by the intensity of the way the models are portrayed and the well-balanced vivid color use. His style of portraying and color use intensifies the experience of the viewer as if the model in the painting lays her/his whole soul in the hands of the viewer and in this way creeps under the skin.
